The Silva vs. Jardine match was one of the most awaited fights from UFC 102. In fact, it was one of two main events for the night, the other match was Couture vs Nogueira (won the fight of the night title). If in the main event, Nogueira stood tall against Couture, with a win via unanimous decision, the conclusion to the Silva-Jardine bout was not what many expected it to be. The match ended with Silva defeating Jardine via KO (punches) at 1:35 of round 1. Many thought that the bout would be decided by decision as both fighters are known to be hard competitors. But it may just prove that Thiago Silva prepared better for this fight that Keith Jardine. Still, Jardine has nothing to be ashamed about as it is still part of the game to lose.

Although the Couture vs Nogueira is considered as the fight of the night from UFC 102, because the two fighters were able to withstand each other in all rounds, with Nogueira being declared as the winner by unanimous decision, one fight caught the attention of millions of MMA fans worldwide.
