Chappaquiddick Incident | Did Ted Kennedy kill Mary Jo Kopechne?

RIP Senator Ted Kennedy. At the age of 77, the last family member of the Kennedy political dynasty dies after a long battle with cancer. Throughout his life, Ted Kennedy has offered many services to America but there was one huge controversy early in his life that up to now, even after Ted Kennedy's death, it still haunts him. This is called the Chappaquiddick Incident. On 1969, Ted Kennedy was riding his car with rumored girlfriend Mary Jo Kopechne. But things turned into tragedy when the car drove off Dyke Bridge, between the Chappaquiddick Island and Martha's Vineyard. Ted Kennedy was able to escape the overturned vehicle and survived. Unfortunately, Mary Jo Kopechne was not able to escape and was found days later dead.

The Chappaquiddick Incident caused Ted Kennedy to be jailed for two months after he pleaded guilty of abandoning poor Mary Jo Kopechne and not informing the authorities immediately after the incident. Many speculations have risen after that controversy. Many say that Mary Jo Kopechne is pregnant and that she and Ted Kennedy may have had an argument at that day, and that the car was driven off the bridge intentionally. Why did Ted Kennedy not inform the authorities immediately which could have saved or revived Mary Jo Kopechne? What is shock or guilt? Up to now, the Chappaquiddick Incident is still a mystery and will remain that way now that Ted Kennedy has died.
